Drop-In bed-liner
What's a good price for a good used drop in bedliner for a 68 chevy truck?

Re: Drop-In bed-liner
Free is the best but I would think a new one could be had for around $150-200 so if I were making an offer I would look at new ones and offer half.Offer less if the condition is less than great.JMHO.

He's asking $100 but says it's in great shape (I haven't seen it yet)

Re: Drop-In bed-liner
I bought a used one for an '86 Toyota for $70, so I guess $100 would be an ok deal on one?

Re: Drop-In bed-liner
Guess I'll just save up for a spray-in (after my paint is done of course)

Re: Drop-In bed-liner
I prefer the drop in liner myself. The under the rail version. I dunno if anyone sells those for our trucks anymore though. I like to be able to slide stuff in the box...from hauling engines to bark for the flower beds. Tie your stuff down when need be. Clean up is a snap. Before I put my last one in...Im guessing 10 years or so ago? I set it in I put a few thick coats of Hamerite gloss black paint on the insides of the bed making sure to really get it in all the seams. We looked under there a few months ago and it was fine. I have one extra one squirreled away for when I make my p/u box trailer.
My son sprayed Rhino liner for a couple of years, and while those bed coatings are super tuff, if you ever wanna go a different direction with your bed, good luck getting that stuff off. Last edited by CG; 06-25-2007 at 04:55 PM. Reason: Because I type for the Dept of Redundancy Dept. =) |

Re: Drop-In bed-liner
I'd say $50-$100 is a fair deal depending on condition, spray in and drop in..both have their ups and downs. It is just what you prefer. I agree with the under the rails type for sure. The last over the rails liner I had scratched the heck out of the sides of my bed! The last one I had was an under the rails with stainless caps..I liked that set up okay..

Re: Drop-In bed-liner
Our local wrecking yard will sell them for $25 - $50, find one that fits and you're golden.
