project (sweet pea)
Finally my own build thread. i have had this truck for about ten years now. And i have been looking at some of these trucks on here, some very nice trucks i might add. And the bug bit me again. When i did this truck in 97/98 i was a wee lad in the whole hot rod world. . i started with a good truck then, original owner never touched and had been in a barn for ten years. i did the normal stuff then . new door skins, new fenders grille bumpers. you get the idea. but this time around i am going take it all the way down. powder coat the frame, media blast everything, paint everything . i am going with new doors. core support . and i found that my cab supports were in a little attetion so i will be replacing all four of them also . not many customs things going on. shaved handles. drip rails ( I THINK ) shave the fire wall. and pretty much make everything smooth. engine wise i got a good foundation, ZZ3 Trans Wise , i have a new TCI 350 turbo with a 3000 stahl. well enough of me rambling . heres some pics . oh one more thing i am going to paint everything, under the cab edge everything .so i thinking of two toning it . maybe a light green and silver. im so tired of the torch red .ANY IDEAS WOULD BE APPRICATED.................THANKS TONY

Re: project (Here We Go Again)
the 29 and 36 are in my father in laws barn. i will get some pics next time we go up there. i cant wait to start on the 36, i only have a body but it was free so right now im only in it for gas to go get it . i got pretty much all the body pieces though , i am missing the left rear fender, but i have both fronts , from what i have been told they are the same all away around the left front is the right rear and the right front is the left rear???? so if this is the case i wont be running front fenders at all. i am going to run a 350 350 . when i get a frame. it should be a cool rat rod

Re: project (Here We Go Again)
Sounds like a fun project. You might have to build a frame for that one.

Re: project (Here We Go Again)
well i hate posting back to back. but...figured i give and update.. i got the engine and tranny out this week end (BY MYSELF) that sucked !! as well as the core support and the bed. everything has gone pretty smooth so far. i have little time through out the week to work on it maybe an hour or two a night if im lucky, im still waiting on my sole called (BUDDIES) to come over and help get the cab off, i did notice something that i wasnt looking forward to, the inner rocker on the driver side is looking bad. i dont think i can save it??? when you buy inner rockers how far does is go to the floor????? i am getting my garage re-wired next week end.. so no more hand tools . and as soon as i get the cab off i am going to have it and the frame media blasted so im just wondering on what to order for the floor. i am going to replace all cab supports . and the passenger side front and rear sections. both rockers and i already have new cab corners. my rockers and cab corners look great but you never know till when its gets blasted. any ways this is being a slower build than i thaught it would be, the wife got laid off at delco remy last week so . i am being put on a budget now. any help on the inner rockers would be awsome. tony

progress pics PROJECT HERE WE AGO AGAIN
i tried to find my last posts on this but couldnt? but i have been doing a little work here and there to my 72. I ve been working on the frame now for about 4 weekends time permiting, and today i finally got it all painted up. It wasnt easy lots of elbow grease to get it her... only because i am a tight a$$ and didnt want to spend the money to have it blasted , so i had to clean everything by hand . weld up all un used holes and so on....... im going to be adding drop spindels, to my 2 inch coils..and i doing 2 inch shackels in the rear to my flip kit.. i am hoping to get it to set right this time??? im also going with new stainless brake lines and all around new everything suspesion wise...anyways here are some pics.........would like some feed back: edit : forgot to add the wife helped me with it....metal:

Re: progress pics PROJECT HERE WE AGO AGAIN
Looks good! Two things to consider: Your rear flip is about a 5.5" drop, so it should be about perfect with a 4.5" drop up front. If you do decide to do shackles out back, 2" will probably be too long and will contact the bed cross-sill.

Re: progress pics PROJECT HERE WE AGO AGAIN
well i been slacking on this thing big time....but that s all about to change...today....so i started off by getting the front end all together..im still waiting of my drop spindles and new lower control arm bolts anda few other minor things...so after i ran out of stuff to do..i got the engine tore down and its soaking now in degreaser....it just needs a repaint and some new gaskets....(it only has 8,000 miles on it...but poorly installed valve cover gaskets made it dirty....) and i am doing a no chrome approach this time...i also got some of my fire wall cleaned up and made a few filler panels and got those welded in....but i looked outside and .SNOW so the wife and me are on snow detail for awhile....hopefully i can get back at it tomorrow...but i am going to make a trip to see Richard H...so we will see howit happens...all in all it was a good 4/5 hours....im going to start hitting this resto hard now...and spend more time out there on it....she deserves it.....lol the 72 that is..........tony....anyways i got to get the wife to resize them and ill post a few..
