Are 67's boosters different?

The booster is bad on the 67 I bought so I called the parts store and they got me one. When I picked it up from the store I knoticed it looked the same as the one on my 72 blazer. The one on the 67 is smaller in diameter and thicker than the one they ordered and the 72. Nedless to say it didn't work, the rods are longer on the new one and when I got it bolted up the master cylinder would not go back on the studs because of the longer rod. What do yall think????/

Yes, its different. Look for a good used one. Or convert the entire assembly to the 72 style. Keep in mind the 3/4 ton uses a HD booster with is thicker

Re: Are 67's boosters different?

I was thinking about buying a kit from cpp that has the booster, master, and a disc/disc porp valve. It comes with the brackets and the rod that mounts to the pedal, I guess that will work won't it?

Keep us posted on how that is going. I'm considering doing the same with my '69. It already has discs up front but I would like power brakes.

thanks...

Re: Are 67's boosters different?

My booster was bad on my '67 burb and I bought a 4 year old master cylinder/booster combo from a member that had it on his '69 truck, and it bolted up and worked fine. Took about an hour to do and the booster is different than my '67 was.
