Okay old guys, I need help here

I have an Edelbrock torker intake on my 396, the one where the carb sits at a slight angle. Id like to find one for a small block but cant find anything anywhere. I know they made them because my dad had a 71 GMC with a hot little small block way back when, that had one on it. Anyone have any pics or know where I can find one? They may have also been called a Tarantula or a Scorpion. Heres the one I have on my BB...Thanks...

They were known as the 'Scorpion' intake & even had a little scorpion in the casting & were Edelbrock intakes.
The 'Tarantula' was the BBC version. I used to have one of each, but only have the BB version now.

Re: Okay old guys, I need help here

The small block torker was not canted but a good intake . Swap meet or maybe the boards for a used one . I just sold one about a month ago!! I 'm running a vintage strip dominator which is way taller. The scorpion they are talking about is kind of a air gap design of the past and really hard to find. I don't think I can legally tell you where to find one according to the web rules!! Hope this helps

Re: Okay old guys, I need help here

I was thinking the Weiand Torker (the original, not the Torker II) was canted, but that was 15-17 years ago that I was selling those.
(does that make me old?)
Anyway, I love the looks of that carb mounted all croked in there, BBC or sbc either one looked way cool.

Re: Okay old guys, I need help here

The pic I posted is an origional torker from the mid sixties I have never seen one for the sbc that is canted . I always thought it would be cool also. If anyone has a picture of one that is canted I would like to see it!!

Re: Okay old guys, I need help here

They are distinguished by the straight runners. The small block manifolds mounted the carb square.I had one on my`71Blazer from the early`80s and it was already no longer produced back then. It`s a good race motor high rpm hp design.I now have one for my shortbed project, but it`s up at my shop.
