New gas tank !
It arrived today , was sitting on my porch when I got home .
haven't opened it yet (had to say hi to the family 1st) thanks to Frizzle Fry for the idea . not sure yet if I should tackle this job in the driveway or wait a couple of month's till my shop is done ? Love the idea of a rear mounted tank for safety , traction , leg room etc.

I did it in the driveway, but with the bed off... Cool thing is you can put it in and still run the OG tank until you have everything buttoned up; line ran etc. I say do it now. You'll be glad you did

i waited til my bed was on, but on my longbed fleetside i had to cut some of the bed's crossmember, and eliminate one bed mount thanks to the filler being right there.

Don't count on leg room if you have a stock seat... or just about any seat for that matter, they hit the cab wall, not the tank.

Good point on the leg room , so far I am o.k. haven't gone on any long trips yet , shouldn't be a factor . one thing I am considering is shortening my box
see"Feel Free" in photoshop post . I wonder if that make a differance as to when I add the tank ? thanks !!!

I had a rear tank custom made for my 72 short-bed stepside years ago. It's 25 gallons and together with my original 22 gallon cab tank, I got nice range. 47 gallons makes up for the low gas mileage a bit. Mine fills from inside the rear fender well. Fills a little slow though.
