Re: Die-cast 67-72

Is anyone else bidding on the green '69 Highway 61 pickup model on ebay? Me and another member were unknowingly driving the price up and I just wanted to see if we were the only ones from the board. Please don't outbid me (I'm the high bidder at $113) Thanks, -Jamie

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Krikey! Someone bid an amount almost as ridiculous as the amount I bid so no one would snipe me. I may need to rethink my bidding tactics...

Re: Die-cast 67-72

I was messing around with one of my Dazed And Confused 72's and put these wheels on it, now I know they are a little but they were all I had, and I really hate the wheels that came on them, so anyway here it is ..

And with the originals

It is an improvement over the 90's stock chevy aluminum wheels.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Yeah. Dazed and Confused was a 1993 movie (which explains how those rims got on the truck) but was set in 1976. I wish they would have at least put rallys on the truck to make it close to the actual period.

In the movie, the truck had different wheels. Aluminum slots if I remember correctly. The model is inaccurate.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

I just watched it on DVD. First time I saw it all the way through. Yeah, it had the aluminum slots. They had so many nice trucks/cars in that movie. And all of them had fantastic paint jobs; no rust, no body work needed.
Did anybody notice on the diecast, that it has four wheel disc brakes?

There was also a '77 El Camino even though it was set in the summer of '76.

You can still find dazed and confused cars at walmart. I have some extras and I have seen them listed here by a few people and there are a lot on ebay. Prices are pretty good too because there are so many available.

I have a Welly pull back chevy truck with clearance lights. It's bigger than a 1/64 scale, if I was to guess, it's about a 1/48 scale. They came in 2 tone in a variety of colors. Got mine on ebay.

Ertl made a truck, 1/64 scale for promotional use with a GMC style grill, but it says chevrolet on the tailgate The easiest way to find it on ebay is looking for a Bell System truck, or Pioneers, which was the way it was packaged. I think it was used for a couple other versions, but can't say for certain because I haven't had any others in hand to compare and the pictures I had didn't have the detail needed.

I have a few of the Loc Riderz extra. PM me if you want some.

Hope this covers your questions.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Watch the quality/finish on the 1:24 D&C trucks. A lot of them had poor finishes. I saw some in the stores that had fingerprints in the paint and scratches. They had these clear rubber-bands put in from the factory, to help hold them in place in the box; a lot of times the bands will leave marks.
All this with factory sealed/taped boxes.
I bought 5 total of the 1:24 scale between two different Wal Mart stores here in Abilene. Three had blemishes. I kept 1 with blemishes and took two back for a refund. The store still had one of the a couple of days ago. I sold the other two good ones here on the site.
I still find lots of the 1:87 scale trucks. Hard to find the 1:64 though.
