Re: Check out this bad 72

I'm not a fan of the chopped top either but my name ain't on the pink slip. the owner put a ton of time and dollars into that truck and built it how he wanted. i'm sure it's worth more than all my trucks combined
i do like the pic without the chopped top better though

Re: Check out this bad 72

I don`t chop my trucks tops, but I don`t customize`em that much, either.I wouldn`t condem every truck with a chop top.I try not to make blanket judgements, pretty close minded IMHO.You`ll find, generally, with that mentallity sooner or later you`ll eat you words or miss out on a good thing.
I like what they did with the glovebox door.I have had that idea, just haven`t done atruck since the idea popped up.I`d either do the G-box door in pebblegrain black to match the cluster or make a cluster from a g-box door and do what they did, chrome then paint center body color or interior color(like GMCs).I`ve chromed g-box doors and put the woodgrain in the center.

I think so, the shifter looks like one of the "Lokar" shifters.

The chop doesn't look all that bad on that truck but it still look disproportional.

I like the body mod's. I would like to see it with a little less of a chop.

Re: Check out this bad 72

I kept thinking that I had seen this truck before... I think I found it when it had 15's and no airbags. In the March 1994 issue of Truckin'. When you consider that it was built in the early 90's, you can kind of understand why it has the chop top. Obviously, it's been updated and had the hood replaced. I do like that they got rid of the bulge running down the center of the hood though.

Re: Check out this bad 72

About chop tops.I keep hearing they are disproportionate...DUH?Doesn`t any change in body dimension change the proportions?Isn`t it like saying painting a truck red makes it look red?
Sorry, but it annoys me how this board can stoop themselves to negative comments on a truck that`s nicer than most of us will ever know.To many this would be seen as crystal clear envy.We can all make a critical comment, including me I admit. But the pack mentality thing`s a real turn off.I`d just like to see everyone more aware of this and try to restrain jumpin`on the bandwagon.I caught myself doing it when I first joined.I am very opinionated, yet can allow others their tastes.Don`t take this as condecending,it`s meant as an attempt to raise a little more class out of the group. It won`t hurt...thanks
