Want Gas Tank Skid Plates?

I have one I took of a Blazer with a rusted tank years ago. They never washed it out after beach running. It`s rusted bad now,but I want to make some using this as a pattern. What do you think they`d be worth and is anyone interested?I`ll post a picture tommorrow.

Might not be a bad idea to improve on the original design while your at it, if necessary.

Like drain holes perhaps...

Re: Want Gas Tank Skid Plates?

This had some one inchers. But,salty sand sandwiched up in there got the best of it.I removed it 20+ years ago and I didn`t wash it or anything.I laid it in the cargo area with parts on top of it.The hatch is broken and got seperated by nosey people and moisture continued to get in,some rain, too,I`m sure.
I was thinking heavier material, though,as well as more drains for wash-out.

Re: Want Gas Tank Skid Plates?

Shipping is going to be the killer. You might be better off making some detailed plans and selling them rather than making skid plates.

Re: Want Gas Tank Skid Plates?

I could do that for those too far.I`m not looking to make any more money than to cover the time involved.Basically,I`d sell for what the steel and labor is.There`s not much to details other than dimensions and degree of bends. It`s nothing someone couldn`t figure out themselves, eitherBut I could offer a plan for cheap.

Re: Want Gas Tank Skid Plates?

I agree with Red, that's not the factory tank skid plate.
