What do you think of this truck?
Hi I'd like to buy this truck for my first project. This is the truck that I like to have 1967 LWB stepside but I'm not sure if it's a good deal. The price is between 1000$-1500$ but many rust is on the truck and I think that's critical emplacement and very expensive to repair. Please give me your opinion if yes or no it's a good deal, if you have low expensive trick to repair rear fender and all your comments is welcome to help me. You are the specialist and I'm the rookie! I put picture to give you an idea. The engine runs good and owner convert 3 speed column tranny to floor shift whit Hurst Indy shifter.
Thank's François |

Re: What do you think of this truck?
All those things are fixable, but it will take quite a bit of time and money. I'd try and get if for less if you're interested in fixing it, since it's got some rust issues.

Re: What do you think of this truck?
lots of work involved, replacement panels could add up in cost and some of the work will require making your own. I would offer less, if he doesnt take, me personally, would look elsewhere.....if engine and trans work well, that may be all you're gett'n for your money.....

Re: What do you think of this truck?
What's a logical price for this truck? It's tought for me to have an idea in the Quebec market this kind is rare and I don't have a real idea of the price. I chek ebay but it's only in US and I htink that you have more truck like this in your country.

Re: What do you think of this truck?
looks pretty rough, and a bunch of work and $$$. On the bright side you sound like this type of truck is what you want and it sounds like its drivable. If you could drive it while collecting the parts to do the restore it might be OK. However at $1000-1500 I'd have to pass...try to talk him down on the price.

Re: What do you think of this truck?
just my opinion at best that is a $100 to $200 parts truck I think you can find a better truck, it would take a good body man and a lot of metal to replace all that rust.

Re: What do you think of this truck?
I'd walk away from that. Personally, unless you want to replace every piece of metal (including cab) I'd call that a parts truck, or a winter beater.
You would be WAY ahead if you were to find something out of the rusty areas... If I'm not mistaken, your west coast is generally a low rust area, even with shipping, you'd be WAY ahead. Last edited by Longhorn Man; 09-03-2007 at 11:15 PM. |

Re: What do you think of this truck?
Personally I wouldn't pay more than 100 or 200 if the drivetrain is in good working order. Otherwise I would suggest to keep looking. Just my opinion though.

Re: What do you think of this truck?
That`s beyond replacement panels.I`ve seen better bodies scrapped.Good for parts only and the seller is dreamimg at $1,000.
Save your money and come down south and get a better start.Keep watching our "Trucks For Sale" section in "Classifieds".

Re: What do you think of this truck?
I agree, that truck is a little too far gone as far as rust. I would expext to pay as little as $200 for one like that and it would only be for parts. You may want to try to work out a deal with someone on this board to help get you a better truck from US for $1000.

Re: What do you think of this truck?
You can buy a $500 truck body down here and pay $1000 to have it shipped and you would and up with a better deal in the end. I know they are hard to find but that cab rust is beyond repair in my opinion, it would need replacement not repair.

Re: What do you think of this truck?
If that is the style you like the the long step bed there are a few on the board fot sale section for around that price that will save you a ton of $$$ in the long run most look to be solid vehicles and you can usually find out more about the trucks history. Good luck and keep us posted
