Roof drip pan gakset/sealer

What are you guys using on your roof drip pan railing? RTV/Caulk ? Thanks

definatly not rtv. The silicone will trap moisture. 3M make a self leveling seam sealer. Its a two part and costs approx 50.00 and only take one tube but works great.

I got tired of sealing it up and just took it off! Lots of work but worth it in the end!

it's pretty involved and I believe there is a thread on this site somewhere that details the process.I did mine many years ago. It requires a lot of welding and grinding done in stages so as not to warp or stretch the metal. Cut thru to the cab with a sawzall in 3-4 inch increments. Then cut out every other one in 2 foot sections and weld it back up. After you get all the way around, fill the welds and grind until its ready for bondo .Should take very little! Thats a short version ..

I had a leak on the driver's side front corner. I wire brushed is and sanded it clean then soldered it with a propane torch. Seems to be working, and I like a metal solution way better than a goop solution.

But if you have good paint on, I could see giong with a goop patch. If you're going with goop, make it 3-M 5200 (a polyurethane adhesive/sealant).

thanks, i fixed my rust spots but that top basically looks like it is some sort of pressed in or something. There is that little lip between the rail and the roof i just want to make sure no water get in under that.
