normally when you upgrade one of our trucks you have to shorten the steering column shaft and relocate the rag joint mount. when you use the 71 shafts they are in 2 pieces therefore no need for welding the rag joint mount to the "shortened" original shaft here is a link to better explain: http://http://www.classicperform.com/power6066.htm
