Anyone have vacuum problems with mild cam?
I had a mechanic tell me that I would need a vacuum booster if I went to even a fairly mild cam.........

Is 292 a radical cam?
It depends on what you have that runs off vacuum. Non-power brakes, manual transmission and dual plane intake let me run that with no problems. If you have power brakes, single plane manifold and an automatic without stall converter you may need a vacuum booster anyway. I don't really know what the cutoff is but with more info someone a lot smarter than me might be better able to guide you. EDIT: Oh, I also have 3.73 gears. That helps too. 225 duration, 525+ lift...
stock power brake & automatic tranny ...no problems here.

If it IS a problem after the new cam is in...
What is the answer to low vacuum and how do you recognize it? My truck is a 69 GMC, 396, factory steel high-rise intake, th400 trans w/o kickdown, factory power brakes... The cam is a voodoo: Advertised Duration 262/ 268, Lift .530/ .542 . Thanks,
