Hi, I have a 6 in. superlift on my 71 shortbed. The ride is pretty harsh. Is there any lifts that have a softer ride? Thanks, Albie

I'm running an 8" lift with SkyJacker softride springs up front and custom made springs in the rear. My truck rides better than it did at stock height. I'm also running the 5-way adjustable Rancho RS9000's which helps to adjust the ride. I couldn't be happier.

I wanted to lift my truck using springs in front and rear (no blocks).
I was looking at the 2.5" softride lift as well, but they only supply blocks for the rear. Where did you get your rear springs made?

I had National Spring Co. in California make my rear springs. They make them to your specs and asked me lots of question before making mine. Some of the questions were: Do you tow or pull anything with the truck and if so what is the tongue weight of the trailer and how much does it weigh, is it a daily driver, how much does the truck weigh, how soft do you want it to ride, etc.

They charged me $100/inch per pair + shipping. That included new bushings. I think they also have a minimum cost of $300 even if your springs are under 3" lift.

I have to agree with Pont on the ride. Before tearing my truck apart I had a SkyJacker Softride with 4" of lift front and rear using springs, and Rancho RS5000's. The truck rode better than stock with less body roll and porpoising on the road. Could be that mine was so worn that bricks would have improved it, but the ride was very comfortable.

JIMs70GMC user # 2756 Join Date: Jun 2001 Location: Chesapeake, Virginia Posts: 4,612	Tuff Country has rear 2" softride springs. __________________ 1970 K25, 8' stepside bed 350/465/205 44 up front, 60 in the rear 4.10s rolling on 33" Dunlop MTs 1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX 1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears 1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now..... 1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
