Too much money??

Saw this on the Ebay......

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GMC-A...spagenameZWDVW

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think so at $30,000?? What's up with the front end? Look at the headlight and the way the eye brows fit. Nice paint though...Hope it's not anyone on here. Just thinking that it's worth that kind of money.

Re: Too much money??

It ain't restored!! It has a stock-appearing body, with a lot of hidden, and not-so-hidden, modifications. It is far from "restored".

I hate that the term restored is misused as often as it is....People may ask if I am restoring my truck. The answer is NO! It may look like it but not with the flames it will have. Not lowered. That ain't a restoration. It 's a restification, at best.

Re: Too much money??

The truck is really sharp. It would make a nice ride if you took off the hydraulics and put an airide suspension on it. You could probably recoup at least 5Gs for the hydraulics. Not my style, though.

Re: Too much money??

Restored means take something old and make it like new.It doesn`t mean stock or how. That`s why we say original restoration or concours restoration to ndescibe what kind of restoration..

Re: Too much money??

I think for sure it's an attention grabber. Not really my style, but if I owned it, I would be showing it off. I want to see "teeitup" get ahold of it, I bet he could turn it into $45,000 worth of parts.

Re: Too much money??

It all comes down to $$$ and one's taste. Most rodsterations could easily go $20-30,000. There are many differrent taste when it comes to our truck rebuilds. I would not spend this much $$$ on this truck although I do like it but not enough to spend 30G's. My 70cst will look stock when it gets completed next spring but will have lots of mechanical upgrades so it will drive and ride better. At the same time all changes to my truck could easily be switched back to factory original. It all comes down to taste.

Re: Too much money??

Here ya go ChevLoRay:

According to Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary:

Main Entry: re·store
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): re·stored; re·stor·ing
Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French restorer, from Latin restaurare to renew, rebuild, alteration of instaurare to renew
Date: 14th century
1 : give back, return
2 : to put or bring back into existence or use
3 : to bring back to or put back into a former or original state : renew
4 : to put again in possession of something

According to Def #3...this thing ain't restored. It is BETTER than new but not restored. Its a sharp truck, I'd love to have it. I'd trade my 2005 F-150 for it anyday (of course I'd trade it for a simple daily driver also)!!! Wait a minute...no AC or heat??? well, Ok I'd still trade. I'm gonna join up with Corn and no longer bash Ebay trucks...the seller on the other hand is an idiot thinking he can get 30G out of it
