Potential HP for a 327?

Just would like to know what type of HP one can get out of a 327 without forced induction and with? Just rough estimates, 300, 400, what is the limits? I know there are probably alot of variables to throw at it, just looking for some numbers, using the stock block, not bored out. Thanks in advanced.

350 is capable from a 327 with the doubl hump heads and cam. Look at dontov they made cam's for the 327 camaro 350 hp. You could go as high as your money allows.

400+ hp isn't too difficult to do....it just depends how much $$ you want to spend. Chevy High Performance Magazine built one in the Feb 07 issue that put out 404 hp. They used the complete Edelbrock Performer RPM package.

You could probably get between 350 and 400 hp with flat tops, a pair of Vortec heads and hydraulic flat tappet cam with .500+ lift and .050 duration around 235-245*

Re: Potential HP for a 327?

like captain said, just depends on how much you can spend. some 327's come stock running 300 hp. raised compression, like a set of properly done 58cc heads, correct cam, intake and carb, and ignition you can pump out some serious numbers. i would definitely look into the edelbrock performance packages. easiest way to get power at a decent price. performer rpm top end kits are the way that i would go
