67 Window Vent Wings

I had the vent wing open and was driving around today. Upon arriving back home, the glass was ready to fall out. Is there a specific gasket that goes in there? I ended up pulling the vent glass out and noticed what looked like some sort of gasket but only on the bottom. The question is do I have to buy another for the window vent or could I just put in some black gasket sealant? I have never had this happen to me before.
Thanks,
Kerry

Re: 67 Window Vent Wings

Because of the age of the glass the sealant tape used to hold in the glass has dried out. Clean out the channel and you can either use a bead of silicone or windshield urethane to glue the glass back in. Put in just enough to bond the glass to the frame.

You can also go to any automotive glass shop and get the proper bedding tape that the factory used heck they might even fix it for you reasonable not hard to do.
