Re: ojoe's crewcab shortbed build

nice! i know you are glad to have that. lt looks good.
come on over this weekend.
i just came in, mike and i have been working on mounting the blazer gas tank. we got it done, just have to take it out and paint all of the brackets.
also got the dakota gauges in,front driveshaft in, shifter hooked up and p/s finished.
i got the a/c relocation kit from street and performance, did not know it was going to be polished alum including compressor. i am now bead blasting it all and going to spray clear so it will match the stock brackets.
i am now waiting on wiring harness and ecm from speartech and fuel lines from fueltech.
maybe i can get some more done this weekend

I believe he said spindles/brakes and the "A-arms". The ball joints on the 1-tons are different. This might have been in the headliner thread though?

The truck is looking great Joe. Have you started installing the Speartech harness yet? Did you have them pull the cruise control wire for you? Can't wait to see it on the road.

yes, i do have the engine harness installed on the last pic, i have been working on my old harness cutting out every thing i don't need (which is a lot) and yes speartech did leave me 4or5 wires for my cruise, they will tie into my old gm stalk controll. also my pcm and drive by wire controll box will be under dash

Re: ojoe's crewcab shortbed build

I have been reading this thread with interest since I just purchased a 88 V30 4x4. My question is can you shorten a 1 ton frame and not use the half ton rear section like you are doing or is using the 1/2 ton the only way to go. I havent had my truck long but a 4x4 crew cab short bed would be the bomb.

The truck is looking good. I think you need to put one of those "thingeys" on top of your motor, . Just let me know when I can drop my Crewcab off to be finished, .
