Center hump problem
I am wondering if I swap my 72 2wd cab to a 72 4wd chassis if I will have to cut out my center hump (low hump) and bolt in a high one or if it will work both cabs are automatics if that matters thanks

Hopefully some other will chime in, but because of the transfer case, I am pretty sure you will need the high hump.

I fit my cab on the chassis with a low hump floor but there would have to be a hole in it for the t-case shifter obviously.I already had the high hump for it so I just cut out the whole thing and mounted the tall tranny hump in there.

Not hard,I used a torch to cut it out,since the cab was off the chassis but it should be just as easy using a sawz-all,etc

be sure and cut out the piece all the way back under seat..

yep ya gotta cut it out. we used a air chisel dang it was noisy too, and when you finish if you hear any strange noises check to make sure your transfer case isnt hittin anywhere,

I used a die grinder with a cut off wheel ,made a clean job of it.If i remember right the floor has some stamped lines in it.Just put your high hump over it and you will see how much you have to remove.Pretty easy.

Lay the hump (high hump) on the low hump cab, mark and drill the holes you need to bolt the hump in then use the stamped lines in the low hump cab to cut out the low hump floor. I had to do this for my 4x4 as the original cab was junk, found great 3/4 ton auto truck trimed the hump, instant new 4x4 cab. This is not a big deal just use the removeable hump as your template and be sure to predrill your mounting hole and also remove the spot welded nuts that the bolts thread into.
