Re: Looking for a change:
yea i voted keep it like it sits...you could mold the wheel sorrounds of a 67-72 bed into that late model bed...would look good if they matched

Re: Looking for a change:
Original style bed and Vette style rallies with white letter tires would give it an attitude adjustment.
I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but wide whites just don't belong on anything newer than 1957, IMO.

Re: Looking for a change:
If you had a 6cyl. 3-speed with stock wheels and wheel covers white walls would work. But not on yours. The beds fine I know some don't care for 'em but since SWB beds are '' gold '' run what you got. Thats a sharp ride.

Re: Looking for a change:
I would do the white walls, white top, and an original bed - short or fleet doesn't matter.

Re: Looking for a change:
Aw heck, I'm not sure what I'd do. I got a bed just like yours....on my '96. Trying to figger how I'd like it, and honestly, making the wheel wells match is first thing on my list. I'd change the front to match the rear, though, not the other way. Then, I'd put some rallye's on it, like mine, small caps, trim rings and a white tonneau cover. That way, if you got tired of the white, you'd just pull the tonneau off. Do a 4/6 drop and don't look back. I don't think wide whites look quite right to me, as much as I have thought about it for my own theme.

Re: Looking for a change:
I like those beds on those trucks, especially if you shave the rear steps. If it were mine i'ld, slam it, and go with something like this:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku ...painted the same color as the truck. Paint the top white and add a red and white tonneau cover and a little pinstriping. Even if you decide to leave it as is, it's still a good looking truck. I'ld park it in my driveway any time. I saw a '67 lwb that was slammed and running chrome rims, baby moons and WWW. It actually didn't look to bad. |

Re: Looking for a change:
well, i cant really drop it that much, i live out in the country, and occasionaly have to ride some dirt roads. if i did a 4/6 drop i wouldnt even be able to make it out my driveway. not to mention, in my town it would be frowned upon...majorly
oh yeah, and thanks for all of your comments and votes...keep em coming!

Re: Looking for a change:
Personally, if this were my ride I'd do the following;
1. Lose the late model bed and slap on an O.E. stepper or fleet bed. 2. Put a modest drop on it like maybe a 2/4, being as you cruise the country roads. 3. Get some 17 inch smoothies w/ Stainless police caps and skinny beauty rings- paint 'em either charcoal or black. 4. Call Diamodback Classics and get some 3" Wide Whites. 5. Leave the roof alone. 6. Tell all the hickoid chuckleheads who give you grief for rollin' a lowered truck to 'eff-off. 7. Drive it like you stole it! Mind you- this is merely my personal opinion. This is your truck so you need to do whatever it is that makes it tingle in your daddy-parts.
