carburetor to throttle body

I'm planning on pulling the engine out of my truck this spring and resealing it. Has small leaks in front and real seal as well as the valve covers. Probably have the transmission and transfer case resealed as well. Also planning on a valve job b/c I have noticed that if it sits for a week or so w/o cranking that it smokes for a short time after starting.

My 1st question is, I think I would like to change over to a throttle body system and get away from the carb that needs to be rebuilt. What is needed with this swap and would I look for new or try to find a tb system off of another motor?

2nd question. I would like also to change the heads to the vortez heads. Is there a certain # head that I would be looking for? BTW the orginal motor just turned over 34,000 miles and I would like to keep it in. Any advise and suggestions in much appreciated!!! Randy
