I got a new top! Finally, now I need parts?

well I got a new top from a guy that I've bought some parts from before.( he has a chopped 2wd blazer for sale if interested) anyways I bought a double wall top without the hatch for $125, It needs some work, but is fairly solid. Where can I get new weatherstripping for it? how about the hinges and and seals for the hinges on the hatch? I also really need a new handle for the hatch. and new window regulators. I would like to buy local if possible. thanks guys

red72

ps I'm so glad I found a top local, and the guy delivered it to my house. I told him about the board but he didn.t seem to interested since he was selling his blazer.

weather stripping you can get from any of the vendors most likly. the hatch is a different story. i doudt you will find hinges unless you find them used and the handle you might want to check out a place that sells camper shells. i have yet to find any one who builds new internals, hnges and stock handle. only thing at the moment is the fiberglass rear hatch shell.

I swear I've seen the hinges for sale before. maybe not and someone has to have a good condition handle for sale. the clip that holds mine in place is long gone, so it slides in and out every time you open it. I'm glad I don't have to buy a new hatch, mine is salvagable, those suckers are expensive.

There is a great truck shop out in Snohomish - PickupsNW. They have a web site but very little of their stock is listed there. If you know Snohomish at all, they are by the airport. I have bought a lot of parts there and always received good service. Their prices aren't the best, but there aren't any shipping fees if you go pick it up. They have the seals listed in their catalog. They may not have the hatch parts, but they may be able to direct you to someone who does.

I'm glad you found a top. My neighbor hasn't been around lately so I never got a chance to ask him about the tops he saw in Eastern WA.

I have an original latch handle with the internals, I also have a pair of hinges. the handle has some pitting , a stripped screw head ( head- not threads ) and I don't have a key for it. It works though. I also have the arms that connect the handle to the side latches.
The hinges - one is tight and needs some knock-r- loose and heat
the other works fine.
I can E-mail some pics and you can make an offer if interested.

Go to home depot or Lowes and buy a garage door handle. Its the same one. Even comes with keys. I think I paid $7. As for hinges, I think bouncy is right, you'll have to look around. When I get back, I'm going to do some junk yard hopping and I'll keep my eyes open for you. Jeff.

That handle doesn't look right and an original should use the ignition key.

Hey Red. That wrecking yard I told you about has the hatch on the blazer top. I believe the handle and hinges are there. It just doesn't have the prop arms (don't know the name of them).

LeRoy, I think that is the one I've seen on collectorcartraderonline.com. (http://adcache.collectorcartraderonl...6/39892386.htm). He had it advertised in the Little Nickel a long time ago as "Parting out" so I called him about it. He didn't want to part it out though. I told him to go this site, but I haven't seen him here yet.

Ya, that's the Blazer I saw. I'd be all over it, if I wasn't already, way over my head in projects.
