I am about ready to glue the headliner back in my truck, and was wondering what all you guys use before I get unsatified looks. I really want the headliner to stick to the ceiling for a long time. I was going to use 3M spray adhesive? but didn't know what you guys used. Thanks Trevor

Construction adhesive worked well on my Sub. Something 2000 was the name and it was in a regular caulking tube. Got it at ACE for a few bucks. Still holding well in the cold after a couple of years. Good luck!

I used the 3M spray adhesive, (the strong grade) and held it in place with a "tee" made out of a 2x4 and a piece of plywood. Same idea as what you would use for holding dyrwall to the ceiling. I made the 2x4 just long enough so that it would fit beween the plywood and the floor. I sprayed the roof and the
headliner, let flash, but not too long and then fitted the liner up to the roof. After setting my "tee" in place, I let it dry for a couple of days, just to make sure.

The 3M spray adhesive-90 will work but can be messy if you have never used it. I recently started using pure silicone caulk in a gun. It's very neat and will withstand any humidity build up in the cab. Plus if you have to ever remove it, the silicone peels off cleanly without damaging your paint unlike glue. Like JimKshortstep4x4 said - you will need to wedge to hold it up while it cures. Good luck!

Silicone? That is interesting.

My concern would be the effect that silicone has if you ever need to paint your truck. Working in a plant that had (4) paint lines
just bringing silicone into the plant would cause panic on the lines. We do not use any kind of silicone in the plant. Not sure if this is common practice for paint lines in other areas but in our area it is and we have lots of paint lines in Western michigan.

Just an observation.

Jim,
Silicone shouldn't have any effect on the paint. It peels off easily and would be less harsh than spray glue when it comes time to remove and repaint your truck.
