Yes I lurked for a little while

Then I signed up. I read my first newsletter and felt compelled to say hello. I will tell you a little about me, maybe more later but I am tired and 0400 comes fast. I am a VA native now residing in NM, not by my choice (some of you will understand). But this is a good place to find low rust and rust free vehicles and parts. My first C10 experience was a 72' Cheyenne my dad owned. I basically fell in love with them then some near 20 years ago. Of course that doesn't mean I am that old either.

A little about my garage filler, I recently purchased my first C10, almost got a 67' C30 flat bed @ 23K miles. But the guy decided to double the price on me last minute so I decided to walk. Anyhow my truck is a 72' C10 LWB step side. I had never seen one before I got this one, of course since then I have seen a few in here. She has all original equipment but had a hard life on the ranch. Stock equipment is a 350, 3 speed, GM 12 bolt (that according to the codes in the glove box is a G60 posi, not real sure what a G60 is) and everything else is pretty well plain jane. Engine runs nicely, driveline is in decent shape, I do need to go through the rear end though. The body rust seems to be in the typical locations, cab corners, rockers, front and rear of fender. Not real pretty just yet, but I like her. I hope that was within your expectations of brief, lol, I will try to keep popping in to answer any questions or just talk more. Thanks,

Re: Yes I lurked for a little while

Wow, I didn't expect such a welcome. I hope to become familiar here soon. There will be times I will be out for a while but I like to be involved if I can. I also own an 85 Vanagon, this is a slow rolling tool box! Whould I be considered a bad person if I chose to just get my truck roadworthy and drive it without fixing it up right away?

Of course I'll still do a few mods, already replaced the intake with aluminium. Got a builderengine on the stand, 350, .060 over, flat top single valve relief pistons, vortec heads, gear drive timing, etc. etc. But I am afraid of what this one will cost me in fuel. I will be doing some other stuff to but not sure yet.

Are there a few military among us? Thanks for what you do! And for the vets thanks for everything!
