Re: Poor turning radius
My 73 Blazer had a UTurn issue. Turns out The Axle shifted back about 3 inches on the driver side. Squared it up and no more 3 pt turns - just need a wide street of intersection.

Re: Poor turning radius
SWB or LWB? All LWB trucks had a heck of a turning radius.

Re: Poor turning radius
Check the turning radius both right and left . See if one is sharper than the other . Also check to see if the steering stops at the limiting stops on the control arms or if the steering box is limiting the turning radius . It may have an incorrect and too short pitman arm . Frank

Re: Poor turning radius
I've asked this question before and I've never gotten a good answer. Someone told me that the 4x4 trucks do have more turning angle but I've never driven a 4x4 73-87. I think it's just the way the suspension is designed on 2WD trucks that doesn't give them much turning angle. It seems like the newer extended cab trucks have a longer wheel base, but have a smaller turning radius than my 77 LWB. Weird.
I don't think anyone has really found out the reason for this shortcoming or a fix for it. |

Re: Poor turning radius
the 73-87 4x4 trucks have a narrower track width in the rear than in the front to help with trun radius. I don't know if this is the same for the 2x4 trucks.

Re: Poor turning radius
ok I found out 2 things 1) my frame is bent at the front horns. 2) the steering wheel turns 3 full turns to the right , but only 1.5 to the left.

Re: Poor turning radius
High horsepower and a posi can solve the turing problem, but you will have a tire life problem...

Re: Poor turning radius
