I did all the work myself, except for exterior paint. Front of truck was painted in a carport thingy with a plywood floor.I almost s--t when i dropped my cab, doors and front clip off.My buddy finally opened up a little shop and we finished bed in real paint room. After Hurricane Rita went throuh in the middle of it. The black is almost semigloss,i usually paint them more of a eggshell black. I built the seat out of a 98-99 tahoe -sub.second seat and i covered the original door panels to match. I installed a old air unit, that is why it has non air controls and the plastic glove box. The truck is the originalcolor med red #514 or #544. the inside glove box door is still original paint. I sold it with 17x 8 tt2'sand about a 3/6inch.drop. I was going to run tailpipes and never got around to it. I sold the truck with 212 miles on it at Goodguys and the was the last 12 that i put on it about 100mph around the track on sat.evening.I sold the truck to help fund my new 40x60 metal building that i just put up.I out grew my 30x40.I have started another 70swb that will be same quality that will be for sale. The truck was stock 350,700r and 373 gear.It was hard to let this one go so quick but i needed to finish my shop. I usually put a couple thousand miles on them first. I prefer 68and 72 swb anyway. The guy put the air ride.wheelsand steering wheel is the main thing that he changed in last couple of months. I like the way that it sits alot better than when i had it. O well now i am broke again and no finished truck to play in. But i got a new shop to start all over again.
Sorry i got carried away, just got excited when i noticed it was my old truck. I do not even have any nice pics. of it. Maybe i can get him to send me some.
I sold the truck for $25000.00 and thought i did good.
You did a super fine job on it and your price is more realistic than what he is asking.

It makes me wonder if he should just goto Barrett-Jackson with his stuff. I wouldnt pay that much for either truck....nice trucks...but not worth the money he is asking.

STP67-72,
Nice build.

Can you explain how you modified the seat to fit?

I can't wait to see your new project build pics.

Re: 58k 69 C-10

I think if I were to add everything up including the gas and oil that I have spent on my truck I would still have less than 3K in it. I admit it is rough but eventually when I have the money I will sink at least that much in body work and even then it will nowhere near as slick as some of these trucks. The great thing about my truck though??? I carried some paint in the bed the other day and the cans were kinda rusty and some of the paint spilled on the wood in the bed...I shed no tears. When my truck is too nice to put something in the bed, I'm gettin rid of it! Gotta have a TRUCK!

Re: 58k 69 C-10

That truck scares the hell outta me. What if dust got on it, what if it got rained on, what if somebody put a teenie tiny scratch on it somewhere??????? It would be more than I care to deal with. I like my "will probably never be finished, 10ft'r, don't like to drive it in the rain but I will if I have to, pretty darn quick truck".

it is a beautiful truck stp67-72! Very nice work... The price in my eyes is a bit over the top... But then again 89 grand for that yellow thing makes this one look like a deal!! Barrett Jackson was way down this year so you really can't use that one anymore....

Re: 58k 69 C-10

On just a quick glance throught the pictures I see $2000 in changes I would make.

IMO if I was spending that much I wouldn't / shouldn't need to make any changes.

I was thinking the same thing. My Barrett Jackson comment was just a generalization on how on days where the NON Big Boys are auctioned its not uncommon to see a vehicle with 75-100K restoration or build go for 30-40 K and sometimes lower.Didnt really pay much attention this year.

Re: 58k 69 C-10

Nice truck Steve, and I think $25-$30 grand is not unreasonable for what's basically a new truck with classic style.

Like everyone else, his price is over the top but he must of gotten the idea from somewhere (maybe that $80+ one...).

Re: 58k 69 C-10

Thanks for compliments, even though it it not my truck anymore. There was several things that i could have done different but would have cost me more money and i would have had to ask more for it. I had about 400.00 in seats, carpet, door panels etc.I could have used one of my sets of factory buckets and consoles, but they are worth that much and still have to spend another 400.00 or so on covers. I had the camaro tack setup which also is about half the money as a factory tack set up. I put coils all the way around it to save money and also can put it back stock height and 15's on a saturday if somebody wanted it that way. I just try to get them to where somebody can change it up the way they want it.I would have loved to put one of my stock am/fm radios in it, but will not give one up.
And even though i only put a couple hundred miles on it before i sold it. It it just a truck with nice paint and chrome goodies. If you scratch it or get rock chips, just fix it and drive it.I just repainted and put hood back on truck a few days before i took it to Goodguys.
Hey Luv2 what would you spend a couple thousand dollars on. Just curious what changes i might make on the 70 project. It will almost be setup the same way.But this one is RED
Thanks Guys

Re: 58k 69 C-10

Hey DJW32
I sorta forgot about you on the seat brackets(sliders) on the truck. Somebody else asked about them also.I have some step by step 35mm pics. that i will try to get scanned or what ever they do. Pics. would show you how i did it.
I cut done some 88-98 chevy truck brackets and welding them back together. I welded some flat bar on bottom like originals, but extended the back a little where it will catch the back bolts in the floor pan. I have a jig made for the mock up, but if you finished the brackets first and then mount them to floor pan. That will also work as your jig. I then ran two pieces of tubeing. One across front and one across the rear. Weld them to each slider front and rear. Then you have to take part of the seat brackets off of the flip down seat crap and weld it to tubeing in front and rear.I will really need to get the pics. done. Because i probably have you confused.
I have used stock brackets before and they work fine. They just sit a little higher. The 88-98 brackets make a cleaner look. You can also make some cool little covers that slip on like mine did. Mine were made out of plywood, and i covered them in same leather stuff like i did my door panels. They were just velcroed on.They look ok just painted also.

The seat bracket looks alot like the 67-68 buddy-buckets seat bracket when it is finished. Works the same way.Allof that flipping and folding crap you just chunk.
Also the sliders are cut down almost just like SACTO JIMS blue 72.(look at his build pics.)
I cut bottom off and welded flat bar so they would catch all of the floor pan bolts.Just two on each side. Noextra holes drilled in floor pan. Could put stock seat right back in on same carpet.

Sorry if i have confused you and that it got so long. I will work on pics.
