A little help with lowering

I am looking at drop springs for my pickup. I don't want to buy new shocks so I am only going 2 inches in the front.

I want more of a lean forward but don't want to go too far since I live in SD and have to drive down gravel roads and in snow.
Could I see some pics of 1" front and 3" rear please?

Has anyone left the rear stock height and droped the front like 2 inches? If so, please post some pics?

1/3, 2/3 drop pretty much any lowered LWB will do I just want to see how it looks before I dive into it. I've been trying to search but haven't had any luck

Re: A little help with lowering

You can't tell me that no one has done a 1/3, 2/3 drop

Has anyone kept the stock height in the rear and lowered the front?Pics if so?

Re: A little help with lowering

I suggest taking your stock coils and trimming 1/2 a round off and looking to see if you like it.........generally 1/2 a round gets 1-1.5 inch drop and a full round gets 1.5-2" drop.Free mod and can test the look you want.

Re: A little help with lowering

I am also doing this drop, only going 2/3. Have 2" drop springs for front. I also have variable rate springs for the rear that are 1.5 inches lower new stock height springs. Going to use a two inch block in the rear. I do believe if you go 2" spring up front you will still have to change your shocks, maybe not with just 1". Still working so I have not installed anything yet, sorry can’t help more at this point.

Re: A little help with lowering

Something that many people forget is the age of these trucks and the way they sit as of right now versus how they may sit with a new drop spring. If the truck is stock still with 67-72 year installed stock coils you may already have a lowered stance by an inch believe it or not. So if you were to install a 2" drop coil you may only notice an inch lower drop than what you had before with stock old coils. The reason I say to try a stock coil trim is to see what you can get with a little bit of free labor to see where you want to be. ECE has a picture guide to stances on trucks and if you notice a truck with stock replacement coils sits extremely high compared to a truck with say 100,000 miles on stock suspension.

Some people hate stock coils trimmed and considering how inexpensive drop coils are its really up to what you are after, but remember if your truck has already settled an inch and you want 2 inches lower than you are now........you may want 3" drop coils otherwise you may only drop an inch lower than you are currently.

Re: A little help with lowering

Thanks for the info, according to LMC there is a 2 inch drop already on a virgin truck that is why I was thinking of just a 2 inch drop in the front and leaving the rear stock height,
Has anyone tryed this?

If I were to trim the front springs is there a trick to getting them about the same so the truck isn't crooked?
