Project Slo-Go 67
Hello, attached are a few pics showing some of the repairs i am starting on. After being on this site for awhile, i have been influenced to try the rust repair myself. My fabricating buddy assured me there is nothing i can mess up that he cant fix. So in an attempt to keep the pocket a little fatter me and my son will give it a go.

Slow N steady, that's tghe way most of our builds our. I didn't think I would ever get done finding new parts of the body to weld up. Good luck on the rebuild.

Re: Project Slo-Go 67
Hey, that looks familiar to me now! You can also buy the pc that runs the full length on the edge so that whole side would be new instead of just the part that the floor pan replaces. Quite handy I must say!

Thanks 68 short step. I got the floor pan piece cutout and tacked into place. the hardest part for me was drilling out the old spot welds.. Anybody have any tips on this?

Re: Project Slo-Go 67
Thanks Kyull67...
I have done plenty of arc welding building deer feeders and stands for personal use, this is the 1st attempt with a mig, and i seem to be getting better the more i play around. I think i was just a little nervous at first, never actually replacing panels etc. but you have to learn somehow. Thanks again.

Re: Project Slo-Go 67
been slo-going, will start up on the build again this week. I did score a nice 72 rolling chasis with cab for our disk brake swap /5 lug swap, the cab in in good shape need a cab corner, still has a column , seat, head liner, door panels, AC Cab etc. not bad for 100 beaners.

Re: Project Slo-Go 67
Rick,
My plans after the rust repair will be to weld up all the hole in the cab floor.(po installed some buckets) shave firewall, shave gas filler. switch c-member out of 71 for front disk brakes and 5 lug rear. get the body to bare metal, get it straight as i can, prime it, and have my buddy paint it. It will probably be satin.. The 67 is my 15 y.o. sons truck so dont want to get it too fancy for highschool. I will attach a couple of pics of the truck when we bought it. I cannot complain , my son talked the PO down to $1100.00 for it about a year ago. 350/350 running drivable .

Re: Project Slo-Go 67
Thanks for the kudos guys. I will keep at it. our compressor died after 20 years so it's hard to keep my son interested in working as he would rather sand the body with the DA than wirewheel the frame etc. I will find something for him todo to keep him motivated. He thinks the progress is taking too long... I remember when i was 15....
