I know I could have sent it away but I just like to do everything myself.
I used this Windows installable True Type font that I believe is very close.

I just got finished playing around with this font. It's the exact font!

Re: SPID Picture thread?

My avatar truck: '71 C10 that I bought for $100.00 about 29 years ago. I am adding a few options such as tilt, TH350, chrome bumper, sway bar, four season A/C to name a few. Thanks to several board members for the truck loads of parts

I think you wanted to put that in the square body forum. Your truck was loaded with options though...

Re: SPID Picture thread?

After 17, pages. Wow!! My eyes are tired crime reading all that small, faded fonts.. I will post a pick of mine later.

ETA.. I noticed only a handful of the posted spids, had an order # bottom right of label guessing those are actually trucks ordered spec'd out by the customers

Every build starts with an order number, even those for dealer stock.

The dealer order number is what gets sent to the final assembly plant to kick off the build process.

I'm not sure why only a random sampling of SPIDs show the dealer order number; may be plant to plant or model year variation.

I'll try to locate the forum thread where this was recently posted...will post up more pics if I locate it (not my truck just posted SPID for posterity). My K20 SPID can be seen on the resto thread linked in my signature below. SS Tim can chime in but my understanding is that some special color options were offered (fleet trucks like USFS) but the details may be more complex with Canada trucks as these could be had with colors not available in US, purple comes to mind.

Here's one from a 72 we have in storage. It has some interesting anomalies. This is two separate shots of the same spid. It was dark and the flash gave me fits.
