Re: Are 33x12.50x15 to big for stock 72 1/2 4x4?

Anyone remember the old Armstrong TruTracs? I think they were 11.00-15 (just slightly smaller than 33-12.50), and I had them on 15x8 rims on my stock K20. Had a slight rub on the lower leading edge of the front fenders at full lock, so I took a hacksaw to the fenders. It's pretty well hidden and not noticable unless you're looking for it.

Based on that, I don't think those 33s will fit a K10 without a lift -- or some minor trimming.

Of course, wheel offset will change things too, and iirc (been a lotta years), those old 15x8 spoke wheels stuck out a bit further than my current 16.5x9.75 wheels...

Re: Are 33x12.50x15 to big for stock 72 1/2 4x4?

Yes!!!First, there were only 11.00-15s and they were called Rhinos. Then, other sizes were made anf they became TruTracs.Later, the name changed to TruGripRVs.I used to run 14.50/37-15s.

Randy,I have 12.50/33s mounted on 9.75 rims on my`72 K2500 and they will rub lightly at certain few times.I put 8.25 wheels on and they still can rub(rarely). The front springs are very "settled" with good bit of negative arch(more than stock/less height). The blue & white one has about +2" spring work and 285/75-16s,for reference:

w/8.25" rims:

Re: Are 33x12.50x15 to big for stock 72 1/2 4x4?

Thanks guys, my 33's on my white 67 with 2 inch lift are on 8 inch ralleys, I put them on the 72 with no lift, no rubbing but can't decide if I like them or not, I may take my 31's off my blazer before I sell it and see how they look. The blazer may end up with the 33's on it when he comes and gets it. Both sets are like new. I just don't want to buy a new set of tires right now so I'm trading back and forth. Thanks Randy

randy

the yellow truck i got from joe has the 33's and ralley's, they don't rub at all, and really don't look all that big, the truck appears to have stock suspension

Thanks David, these just look big on it to me. Maybe my sprins are sagging some. I'll get some pics this weekend of it when the wife isn't around. She still doesn't know its here.

Randy, I've ran 33s on 8" rallys before with no trouble, did you put the 33" BFGs from my old Blazer on it?
I still have the front springs from the orange Blazer I got from you if you need them.

i would suspect 31" on a k10 would be safe and 33"on a k20

David, she'll get over it. (Hopefully)
Rob, I was thinking they were 31's on the blazer but your right they are 33's.
Daren, Chipflyer (Jeff) is the only one thats seen it
Wibilly, I put the 33's on it. no rubbing so far
I guess it will just have to have 33's on it for now since thats all I got
Thanks Randy

My GMC 2500 sits lower than a stock K/10...for reference.
