Re: My 57 Pro Street
Well I don't have a lot to report.
I've been helping my brother on his 54 furd that's in my garage. I was able to borrow a set of tires for the front and get an idea of where my stance will be. These are 215/60-15s. At this height my cross member is 4" above the ground. It looks like I have enough clearance to run a larger tire so I may do that and see if I can get the front fenders a little lower. Kim |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
I love this build. I just picked upa pair of 215/60/15's for mine and am trying to get the stance just right before my coils go in. Most of the ones I see, including my buddy's gorgeous 55, run 205's. I will have to bring the front end up a bit, with the Camaro front, to clear the tires. Will end up rolling the fender lips to get little more clearance. Keep up the great work

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Thanks for the compliments guys I do appreciate it.
I'm hoping the economy pics up and gas goes down so I will have a little more cash to put into it. Rusty Hooker I have a lot of room with the 215s and may try to go to a 225. Kim |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Kim looks excellent!! Can I ask a question? Sometimes pictures are deceiving but are your rear wheels centered in the rear fenders?

I know they look a little forward in the pics but with the 4 link I'll be able to move them back a bit. My biggest concern were the fronts. This is the first time I've had them on since it had the clip done. Kim Last edited by Kim57; 05-13-2011 at 03:06 PM. |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Thanks kgmunro.
Yeah I'm itching to get it done. Getting the front tires on has given me a little more incentive to get busy on it again. Kim |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Well I started on the hood mods.
I looked at what Kabwe and Tri-5 did and went in the same direction. I leveled the hood and then used a laser level to set the first line on the front of the hood. After laying tape to match that line I lowered it by 1" and then cut the tape to match that. |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
After studying what that was going to look like I decided that the transition from the top of the hood to the front would be to drastic. I wanted a smoother transition so I made the top of that line the bottom and raised my cut by 1".

Re: My 57 Pro Street
On with the cutting.
I cut out the front brace and sliced a notch out of the rear one. |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Put the hood back on and tacked it in position so it wouldn't move.
Marked the center line of the hood so I could keep it all lined up. Cut the top first and then the bottom. |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Looks like will turn out spot on. I like the tab Idea to keep things in place. I am so tempted to have ago at doing mine but I do not think I am skilled enough for it. I think moving the cut up was right the gradual transition is important.

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Kim, very informative post, with lots of good pics. You did a great job with the initial cuts, relieve cuts, and all tacked together the lines look just right from each angle you showed. One very nice job.....Jim
