Custom mirror ideas
I am trying to compile an assortment of door mirror ideas. I do not want to use the OEM style mirror on my K10. Please post pics of the mirrors on your vehicle as well as any ideas or suggestions.

I have those "door edge peep mirrors" that LMC truck sells.
Here is a link to the catalog page. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.asp?page=107 |

Re: Custom mirror ideas
There have to be other mirror ideas out there... Please post some photos or ideas of your custom mirrors or mirrors from other vehicles adapted to the 67-72 style truck.

Re: Custom mirror ideas
Here is what I did as I wasn't sure what to do either. After a few test fits, turns out I really ended up liking them. I don't think it would functional if you have the wing windows.

Re: Custom mirror ideas
I had F150 (~96) mirrors on my old stepside. You can get them in all black or chrome backed, power or manual:

Re: Custom mirror ideas
Were those the chrome ones you painted to match the truck or did you find paintable ones? If chrome, how did you prep them? Thanks.

Re: Custom mirror ideas
These are from the local auto store. They are the plastic sport mirrors.
I found them in black, that was why I even considered them becuase I wanted it to match the truck.

Re: Custom mirror ideas
Frizzle Fry has the photo of the F-150 mirrors posted. Those are the chromed ones. I just installed the black ones but do not have any good photos yet. They look good and work well; I am happy with the results. Mine are the electric model but I choose not to hook them up. You can still manually move the mirror around.
You can see from my photo the damage done by the original big tri-pod style mirrors... ouch.

Re: Custom mirror ideas
I have the round camaro/nova mirror on my truck, and I think It fits well, those f-150 mirrors are but ugly, they ruin your truck frizzle, they are just so big and fugly, but that's one mans opinion.

Re: Custom mirror ideas
bglad... The F-150 mirrors are much larger than the little peep mirrors and some of us do still pull large loads with the trucks and need to be able to see around the loads. Any suggestions for a "better" looking large mirror?
I do agree that they change the look of the truck and that the classic style mirrors do not.

Re: Custom mirror ideas
Peep mirrors...
I also like the factory F100 mirrors, I'd like to see these on our trucks.

Re: Custom mirror ideas
Haha it's all good. The truck is sold. I prefer the factory "sport" mirrors on 67-72 myself. For a solid color custom (like my 61 will be) I like the C6 vette and S2000 mirrors.

Re: Custom mirror ideas
I can't find a good pic right now but I kind of like the sport mirrors that came on all the 80's G-body, F-body and corvettes. Please don't use those F@#$ mirrors !!

Re: Custom mirror ideas
The reason I went for the F150 mirrors in the first place was because I thought they looked good on these trucks. But my tastes have evolved a bit since then.

Re: Custom mirror ideas
im kinda liking the look of the f150 mirrors on the trucks but how did you mount them? just drill holes and screw them on? or was there any thing special that you had to do? my truck has one mirror on it and im gettin tired of not having both and im thinkin that the f150 mirrors will most likley be cheeper than factory mirrors
