Rear mounted Tank with filler in stock location?

I want to put a tank in the rear but my truck is already painted. If I move it I'm stuck with a hole to put an antenna or something in. Has anyone heard of or done a tank move and left the filler in the stock location? It would take alot of plumbing to do but I wouldn't have to come up with something on the rear of my truck. I would just have to run some pipe. I noticed a thread where someone used copper pipe for plumbing. I can do that to!

Could be done but U would have 5 gals of fuel in the feeder pipe not sure I would want that. How about just leave the filler on the cab with a short piece of tank neck till you get it repainted?

make the filler behind a fold down tail light and leave the original cap there as a dummy! Check out the Killer71 build up as that is what he done!

Re: Rear mounted Tank with filler in stock location?

Be careful... I had a mechanic almost fill my cab with fuel Kind of my fault as I left it low.

My brother in-law borrowed it last week and called from the gas station.... all I pictured was him seeing gas coming out the cab corner and then calling me.

My suggestion would be to put a locking gas cap on there and don't put the key in the truck.

When I did the sidemarker fill i left the old neck and cap in place. I made a little sign that I put inside the neck that said: "NOT HERE STUPID!"

Fellas just take the stock tank out and follow shifty's "how to" on the gas cap dummy! The cap is virtually screwed shut.....no way to open from outside!!!!
