In-Line six Transmission Question

I have a inline six 250 in my 1971 C-10. I have a 700R4 empty casing connected to it and set it up to install a rebuilt 700R4.

Now my question is I found a TH400 with a gear vendors overdrive attached to it at a great price. I don't mind resetting up the trans mount or buying any parts for the install. I just want to know would the engine and trans combo work together.

The only thing I would be worried about is robbing power from the 250. I'm not sure how much power it takes to operate a 700r4 but a TH400 takes 15 more hp to operate than a th350. The overdrive will be nice though.

The 700R4 is a great Trans and works well with the in-line six but you still have the headache of the T.V cable adjustment. I've checked bowtie overdrives and they do not offer a kit for a single barrel like they do for the more popular four barrel carbs. I was unsure about the how much HP it took to operate the TH400. Thanks for the reply!!!!
