Rare 67 GMC V6 Emblem

This is something you don't see everyday. This pair of emblems were on the front fenders of an original daily driver 1967 3/4 ton GMC. Has anyone ever seen this style V6 emblem on pickups?

Never seen that emblem before, and i have seen alot of them. The camper cruiser i have seen, and that is rare in itself. Any more pics of the truck? If the emblem were to become available...
Thanks for sharing, Eric

Re: Rare 67 GMC V6 Emblem

Bob B's truck has some kind emblem on the front fender that looks like the Camper Cruiser but it doesn't have the 351 V6 Magnum emblem. His truck is a factory 351 truck. If I had to guess, I'd say that emblem came off a bigger series truck. The 351 Magnum never came in a pickup, although the 351E is essentially a 351 Magnum with different manifolds. The marker light looks to be off a '68 Camaro, so I think someone got a little creative. I do like the look it of the 351M emblem on there minus the marker the light though!

Re: Rare 67 GMC V6 Emblem

My truck just has the 'Camper Cruiser' emblems. I think that '351 Magnum' emblem is off a larger truck, but I can't say I have ever seen one. I would love to have a part number for those!

Re: Rare 67 GMC V6 Emblem

Who ever took the photo of this 67 GMC must have been at the Good Guys car show and swap meet in Pleasanton Cal. on March 29-30 because I myself saw this truck there and took photos of the emblems as well. I know someone who has a 67 Camper Cruiser also with these "V6 351 Magnum Power" emblems. These emblems were only available in 1967 on light duty pickup trucks and no they are not from a bigger truck, those had completely different "V6 Magnum' emblems closely resembling those used on 62-66 GMC trucks. The 351E V6 is and was considered a Magnum engine if you were to read any adds and factory brochures with it's introduction in 1966, it just had the "E" designation Since it was for pickup truck applications. As far as that 67 pickup at the swap meet unfortunately it is no longer powered by a true GMC Truck engine anymore, too bad I didn't see the owner of that truck I would offered him money for those emblems.

If that's the case, that's pretty cool. I have never seen them before myself, but I'll keep an eye out from now one. My '67 Camper Cruiser parts truck didn't get them, but it does have the 351E/NP435/Dana 60.

I think I know your truck. Is it this green KM-2500 with the transplanted 478 with chrome valve covers? If so, you gotta post some more pics here. The guys unfamiliar would love your truck as much as I do!

Big block V6, that's a nice truck you have - there doesn't seem to be many V6 guys here, either - it's cool to se guys preserving them.

Re: Rare 67 GMC V6 Emblem

Yes, BigblockV6, The yellow 67 was pictured at the swap meet. I believe the emblems are original to pickups also. It is possible certain assembly plants or dealerships installed them as a promotion, just like the plaid valve covers used on 63 V6's. The paint was original and so was the interior upholstery. The only modifications I could see were the reflectors and newer one piece wheels. There is really not much literature and information available on these low production GMC's of the 60's, not unless you were around back then and remember.

The 2bbl setup is temporary, just to get the new engine fired up and running because I know the Holley 500 2bbl is simple and will work. Once the truck is roadworthy then the 4bbl manifold and carb go on. It's fairly simple to convert a 2 bbl Magnum manifold to a 4 bbl since the manifold already has a 4bbl sized plenum and why? Because GMC offered a dealer installed 4 bbl option on 351E and larger V6 Magnum engines so the 2 bbl verion shares part of the casting with the 4 bbl version. All you need to do is milled down the top of the manifold base flat, cut it out to square bore dimension and you can't miss that when you see the 4 indentations at the bottom of the plenum, save the two front carb mounting pads, drill and tap 2 new ones in the rear then bolt on a square bore spacer plate as a base plate for your carb. I chose a spread bore to square bore adapter as a base.

No it doesn't have a 351 V6 anymore. I checked this truck out thoroughly short of opening the hood I crawled underneath it and the oil pan was way too small to be a V6, obviously the little moly orange oil pan revealed everyones (OTHER THAN ME!)favorite smallblock V8

That's probably what I'll do. I have been looking at your's for awhile now (saw it on Jolly's site a while back) and I was just wondering if you were going to use it. I can't wait to hear the results of how strong the 4bbl 478 is going to be. I'm betting its going to be a beast!
