Pickup or el camino?

I have acquired a 67 GMC 1/2 ton. I also have a 69 el camino. I love them both, but I'll only be able to keep just one. Too many vehicles. What do you guys think is the plus and minus of each one. I just can't decide.

Re: Pickup or el camino?

I had an El Camino once, I think it depends on weather you want a truck or a car. Which is in better shape?

The el camino is almost done. Beutiful with a new 454. The 67 need a complete redo. It seems ii get one done and I fall in love with another one.

I sold this El Camino and bought this. I think the pickup is more useful for everyday use.

Re: Pickup or el camino?

Keep the 'mino and get another Chevy in a few years.

John...that makes me ill! I'd LOVE have that 'mino. Don't get me wrong! Love the '67 K10, but the one you sold was beautiful!!

Camino!

It's tough to put into words, but there is just something special about driving a Camino.

Re: Pickup or el camino?

Aren't the Elky's a little more valuable than the C-10's? Given the choice, I'd keep the El Camino. I like the '69's too.

Re: Pickup or el camino?

yes, the Caminos are a bit higher on the resale market..... the Caminos fill two niches, the car and truck market.

'69 Caminos are my personal favorite.

NOW WE NEED PICS, AND ASAP!!!!

Keep the Elky. That's one of those cars that is going to cause you to hate yourself for selling in a couple of years.

Re: Pickup or el camino?

I know what I'm about to say won't help you. But I have a '70 El camino that I wouldn't get rid of I've had many offers but still won't get rid of it. I think elkys are harder to come by in my opinion. Here's the only pic that I have on my laptop.

My favorite is the 65 el camino. After that it's the 66.

Re: Pickup or el camino?

I have always loved Camino's and I've never had a mullet. Go figure.

<edit> I was $400 away from having a '59 El Camino as a first car. I often wish I would have waited.

Re: Pickup or el camino?

I'm just beginning a frame off of my Grandpa's '68 Elky. Obviously, I will never sell it. It rides better than a truck, too. EVERYONE wants an el camino, but many will not admit it (I mean the folks who are not into old cars).

Re: Pickup or el camino?

I have a 72 c/10 that was bought brand new by my grandfather with 48000 miles, it has a lot of meaning to me, and I also have a 78 elcamino that I bought from my father, it was to replace the 68 elcamino that he had and once he stopped driving it I had to have it.

I love both of the trucks myself, the truck will haul more than my camino will but the camino drives and handles more like a car, I guess it is all about what you are looking to do with it. Personally I vote to keep them both, cause chances are you will never get them back once they are gone. The value of classic cars seem to be rising and rising which makes me want to have more and more of them

I wish I had pics on this computer I would post them up, they are on my computer at home

Re: Pickup or el camino?

Keep the El Camino unless you need to carry really heavy stuff on a nearly daily basis. The Elky handles better and gets better gas mileage, and if you occasionally need to carry something seriously heavy, get a trailer.
