I'm not sure of the cost. I think it is $25 or something like that. I just think it would be cool if my truck makes the magazine photo layout!

They don't. If you don't register, you won't be allowed to park in any 'show' related parking.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: HotRod Power Tour 2008

Man, oldspowered, I love that H/O! I used to have a cherry '80 Calais with a '71 Rocket 350/350 that I let go for an embarrasing amount just to get it off my parents land to keep them form complaining in the late '90's, when they were worth nothing. I plan on making either Topeka or Lincoln, just to see a bunch of cars I'll never be able to afford.

Re: HotRod Power Tour 2008

its a 1979 hurst/olds which they made 2499 of this car is one of 1300 that is black and gold. this car was brought in to my family by my sister. as a total pos and my sister drove it through high school and then blew the engine! she sold it to me so i would have a project at scc milford. i rebuilt the engine and went from there. i did a frame off on the car and lots of nos pieces.i even put a complete floor in this car! every one thought i was nuts doing a frame off. but whos laughing now!! it's worth 16,000.00. i did every thing on the car except the seats. which ron and jan duncan did in cairo, ne.

Re: HotRod Power Tour 2008

Was planning on going in my wife's SS (yes, she said she'd ride shotgun!) but now (she couldn't get the time off) it looks like we'll wait a year or two until my trucks completed.

Re: HotRod Power Tour 2008

I went last year for 5 days and had a blast. Not a wild party scene and totally family friendly. I planned to take the 69 C10 this year but the grandkids are coming that week. Here is a picture of the 71 Buick Centurion I took last year. 1700 miles with the top down listening to the 455 rumble. I should have kept the car........Oh well, I encourage anyone to go.

Scott

p.s. Go to the events an hour or 2 early. We did that on every leg but the first and then set up at the venue entrance and had nearly 4,000 cars parade past us.

Re: HotRod Power Tour 2008

I went on one leg back in 2002 from Lincoln to KC. It was a blast! It's a little far for me to make it this year, but I'm hoping and praying that next year they leave from wisconsin and head towards seattle and I can cruise part of it. What that means is I have a year to get the 68 done.

If it's anything like the rest of us, you'll still wind up doing a last minute thrash.

Oh I know, I have a long way to go to get it on the road. It's doable, but going take a lot of work and money!

One of the cylinder heads on my new engine had a crack in it somehow, and it filled the engine with coolant. The rear main leaked too. The head has to be welded, and I don't when that's going to be done. I don't know if I will make it or not.
