Question Body lift install

would it be vary difficult to install a 3inch body lift on a 1977 Silverado short bed? Would a floor jack and some wood work to lift the cab and bed?

Re: Body lift install

Sure will. I have done it many times. Just be sure that you have everything loose or disconnected before you start. (Fan shroud, shift linkage or clutch rod, steering column, etc,) There is a "balance point" right about where the center body mount is located. Put your wood block there, lift one side at a time. Leave the bolts in the opposite side and the body stays centered very well. Once you have the blocks in one side and the new bolts through them, go to the other side.

On a '77 (depending on what part of the country you are in) the hardest part will probably be getting the nuts off of the bed bolts. Rust is a killer around here.
Oh yeah, Michigan.....you know about that.

Alright thank you. Oh and the bolts shouldnt be a problem I had all of them loose already. Looks like the previous owner replaced the body bushings and bolts
