327 with 700r4
Hi then and hello again,
Well, I've gone and done it again. I picked up a rebuilt 700r4 with the cable kickdown. I dont know why I do these things I just do, then I look to my brothers and sisters on the forum to help me. What torque plate will fit the late model 327 and bolt up to the 700r4 torque converter? I know Dans driveline in vegas can make me up a drive shaft. This combination will go in the yellow 66 on my avatar, as I am DONE with the low first 4 spd. Any one looking for said granny low 4 spd. send me a PM, I'll make you a great deal on the whole shebang brackets, clutch pedal assy., everything. Here we go again! Thanks all

Re: 327 with 700r4
I thought all 327's were the same. I guess the difference would be the small and large journal...small or large flywheel... Does your starter have the straight bolt pattern or the angled bolt pattern. If it's the straight pattern, then you use the smaller flywheel, angled bolt pattern, use the larger flywheel. I'm not 100% sure, but I think those are the only two sizes of flywheels. Your local parts store should have them in stock...

Hey thanks Hoser, sorry it took so lomg to respomd, mu PC was down. If it was as reliable as my 66.....well, THATS not ever going to happen! (LMAO) All I have to do now is figure out the lockup wiring and I should be able to get the thing on the freeway!

Re: 327 with 700r4
The wiring is easy. Just don't cross them. One is ground and one is hot. I take it you are going to lock it up manually? Next time I am out near my truck I will look for you. I forgot I had the books for the 700R4's. I just looked and you need to follow the red and black wire out to the plug on the case because they change colors on the outside of the tranny. The colors inside are Red (hot) and black (grd). I think on the outside of the case they are green and brn or green and black but I could be wrong. You just need to ground the ground and bring the hot up to a switch and send it back to a power source.
