gmc 305e v6?

Is there any value in a bone stock 305e v6? Been sitting since 93 but still turns over.

Not that much, because not many fool with them. I am a fan of them, and I've picked the few I have pretty cheap. Is that what's in your GMC? If so, I'd definitely leave it in there, because they are so different. I'd bet a week's pay if it will turn over, it will run. They are hard to kill!

I definitely can't knock you for wanting to use that, but it is refreshing to see an old V6 still in one, especially being a SWB stepside.

The most common hop ups are running an adapter plate and running a 500cfm Holley 2 bbl and swapping over to HEI. Rebuild parts are available, bvut not many internal mods such as cams, pistons etc.

They do have a cool sound though. These videos don't really do the sound justice, but its gives you an idea.

It was not uncommon for those engine to 300,000 - 400,000 miles before a major overhaul. Check these out.

No, I haven't had to yet!

I took the heads off my 351 Magnum to see what it looked like and there was still slight crosshatch in the cylinder. The engine came out of 2 1/2 Ton dump truck and had never been rebuilt. I seriously believe if you get it running, it may need nothing more than carb work, belts, hoses, and maybe freeze plugs (they tend to rust out sitting). Do you know why the truck was parked?
