5 lug rear axles installed...Problem

I am fairly certain the 71-72 axles are common to some (if not all) 73+ 12-bolts.

I'm sure that is correct. I have a '69 with a '71 12 bolt rearend and I bought axles for a '69 and they were wrong. When I bought the '71 axles, they were a perfect fit.
