Pardon my french, but you want a "hippie" van and you don't know what a commune even is? How old are you, anyway? If you were my age, you'd know VW buses are no longer the haven of hippies. They can't afford them. They are collector items.

Try eBay and see what you can find. Just go to Collector cars for the basic breakdown in eBay motors. Then, be sure to click on VW, or Volkswagen, whichever it may be.

But, beware.....they are not going to be cheap if they are running and driveable. You may find some bargains, but surely you can Google VW Microbus in the Search block and find better info and comments than we are going to offer.

This one is currently on eBay, and has two bids. The top bid is $10,600.

Re: help me out

If you do find one in good shape, be prepared to travel or pay some good money for it.

Check EBAY motors. There's some in there.

Re: help me out

You may want to look around for a '60s Chevy van. They seem to be pretty cheap. Just a thought.

Re: help me out

Check out this site. They have a huge Classified's section. I bought and sold many a part and vehicles here, back when I was a$$-deep in the Vee-Dub scene. Actually I still have a soft spot for the "kraut-cans" it's just that my lifestyle (Married....with children) does not make a vintage VW a practical mode of transport.
