Tach Vac Dash

Here is a picture of the deisel tach/vac dash I traded for a while back. I replaced the bezel with a new one, replaced the deisel tach with a new truck tach and and replaced the deisel tach/vac lens with our new tach/vac gas truck lens. What do you think? I am going to replace the printed circuit also... Then I am thinking of installing it in my Cheyenne 20 4X4.... Anyone want to buy a used origanal deisel tach and tach/vach lens?? What, no speed warning? Kind of hate to have to pull it out to put in the speed warning, no?

Thanks guys, Huck, I have had 2 different speed warning dashes here, but neither were tach dashes.. If I can find one with a tach I will probly convert it. I thought about changing another one to a 7000 rpm tach, then installing a clock into it... But havn't built up the nerve to cut a good tach dash. That is why I am trying to sell my Camaro tach dash. It has the 7000 rpm tach and the right size clock to boot. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

speedwarning

This was an option on I believe the 67-69 trucks that had an extra needle on spedometer that could be rotated by a knob acktuated cable to a given speed reading and then when speedometer needle hit that point it set off a buzzer. Crude form of governor or cruise control warning.

Wes;

Are you saying we cannot easily convert a non-tach speed-warning dash to stock tack dash with the tach kit?

No Cheyenne 10, I think that with a good pair of steady hands you could convert a non tach speed warning dash. It is when you add the Vacuum guage that things are different. The hole for the vacuum gauge is just like the hole for the oil pressure gauge, amp guage, and temprature gauge. The edge of the hole is rolled over and is something that I wouldn't be able to do anyway. I think if someone just used a dremel tool or something to cut the hole, or something like that without rolling the edge inward it would be easally spotted. When I do something to one of my trucks it may not be stock, but I want it to look like it belongs there and verry well could be stock. That's just me though... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Hey wes, what is a fair value for a inst panel that has the air pressure guage...non tach, painted needles and new bezel? Any idea?

Well I'm not sure. I haven't ever tried to sell one. I would hate to hazard a guess. I am not even sure how commen they are. If I had it I would probly turn it into a tach dash to increase the value. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

I thought about that, but don't have the $ to invest into it. The bezel was enough of a dent in my budget...looks like Romen noodles for a week for me.
Thanks for not just pullin a number outa your rear though.
