Problems

hi everyone i was wondering if any one can help me
well here is the problem i rebuilt a quadrajet carb from a 1974 chevy truck with a 350 or 400 engine well when i went to install the rebuilt carb it ran but it ran the engine hot till i would throw water out the radiator tube
so i put the old carb back on and the tempature came down whats the deal thanks ahead of time Marc

Could it be running lean? Did you compare the jet size from the original carb? Rochester has a rebuild site, I believe. Try Rochester Qjet on the Google search engine and see what comes up. Sorry I can't be of more help but I have never had that happen.

Sounds lean - I'd throw out the rottenchester and get something else...
