Re: Engine Detailed

Andrew. It was from a mint original 1972 Cheyenne C10 44k miles.
Did you keep the original dated engine label on the valve cover?

Re: Engine Detailed

Mark that smog system I sold to Joe I was not for sure If I wanted to keep it or not, but no it did not pay for the detail and parts. The guy did say it was in excellent shape and he would change the oil right after first start up and then after the first 100 miles. I neve seen the date on the valce covers did I mess up?

Re: Engine Detailed

It was a foil type printed tag simular to what the foil ac box decal is and it was on the passenger side valve cover. It was the assembly plant code stamped with the date November 71 I think. There was just a lot of good detail with it and over the years as the valve covers get changed or painted or the engine power washed that decal disappears from most of them. That smog pump and lines is a very high dollar item to Vettes and the Camaro SS in that 72 year with the big blocks. I was always amazed how an air pump ever survived from the early 70's as when I was a kid those things were the first thing pulled off from the car and plugs put in the exhaust manifolds or headers put on.
