Drag Race w/ In cab Gas tank

A quick question for anyone who has taken there truck to the dragstrip.

Are you allow to run with the gas tank in the cab? The truck will likely only run in the 16's. Just want to find out before spend the $100 on fuel to get there. Thanks Jamie

Re: Drag Race w/ In cab Gas tank

i'm running in the low 11's with a tank still in the cab at a nhra track and they haven't said anything about the tank. I'm planning on removing it asap though just for more weight transfer and better fuel delivery. Check out the racing section for any more questions. You can find out quite a bit there.

Re: Drag Race w/ In cab Gas tank

Hello,

I used to do some drag racing and saw many factory trucks (tank in cab) at the strip. I did not personally run a truck but I would suggest the "Don't Ask" policy.

Should not be a problem.

Safety rules generally get more strict in the lower (faster) E.T. brackets.

They prefer factory installation with street classes.
