Ok 4x4 guys, I just bought me one and I think its broken....

After locking it in the first time, didnt get dirty, really just locked it in to make sure the everything works. And it did.

The next morning I got it up on the highway and took her to work. And we got some weird noises. To me (Im kind of hard of hearing from shooting guns EVERYDAY) it sounds like a grinding/rubbing noise coming from the front drivers side wheel area. But its not always there, it comes and goes. But it ALWAYS there only when I turn right. And I can feel it in the steering wheel.

Now Ive never owned a four-by so Im not sure what to look for, its this a tell-tell sign of a CV trying to go bad? I just dont know. Any help or suggestions for me to look for or at would really be appreciated.

Is this a full time 4wd or a part time? Could be a U-joint if it is a full time, or if the lock out is engadged. It could be a wheel bearing in the hub as well.

Its part time, I think. I have to engage it anyways. You will have to excuse me, Im not too savvy on 4x4s or their terminology.

By the way, you live in a town named after me.

What year are we talking about?

I'd lock the hubs in again, shift into 4wd, then put it in reverse and back up maybe 10-15 feet and get it out of 4wd, then unlock the hubs and drive it around some more to see if the sound is still there.

sounds like the hub didn't completely unlock. we've had that happen on our 81 K30. it can make kind of an odd noise and sometimes can be felt as you described. i would do what Yukon Jack suggested.

Well, its a 99 S10 with that shift-on-the-fly BS they got....I know, I dont care for it either.

So, y'all think I might not have a hub disengaging. I will find a some lose gravel or something somewhere and see if I can get those tires to spin. If I see three marks I will know.

A S10 doesn't have lockouts. It could be the wheel bearing going bad. They are non servicable and have to be replaced. it could also be the CV joint in the front half shaft...
