Re: sm465 t-case coupler

I would like a whole new design to replace this piece. It seems to be the only week link in the 465 205 setup.

The did replace this weak design with a male output on the transmission and a female input on the t-case.

Re: sm465 t-case coupler

ok i got a rear shaft from a friend that fit perfect... no more slack in my driveline.. damn thing still pops out of 4-high into 2-high.. plus when in 2-high sometimes it grinds like it tries to shift into 4-high.. maybe something wrong in the shift rail like the detent balls or something?.. has anyone ever had problems with HEI ignition hitting firewall... it rubbed before the swap then really bad after.. it actually broke my cap.. i managed to switch back to points ignition and it runs better.... are points hard to maintain, ive never had then before...

Sounds like you need to replace some mounts... engine and/or trans?

If the motors moving enough to smack your distro cap into the firewall, it's enough to cause the linkage on the shifter to move the t-case out of gear...

Re: sm465 t-case coupler

the mounts are good.. my distributor was on the firewall all the time, but thats fixed.. my tranny hump is out and the linkage isnt touching anything.. its internal to the t-case.. plus it shifts into 2 and 4 really easy.. maybe it just needs a rebuild.... by the way anyone need a sm465/t221 combo?..
