14 Bolt Rear Axle

How are the 14 bolt rears for offroad use. I just pulled a front and rear axle out of an 87 suburban that I am going to sell. They have 4.11 gears. What are these worth?

Depends if you are talking a 14 bolt full-floater or 14 bolt semi-floater. Being from an 87 Sub I would suspect a semi-floater so....it isn't all that popular.

Re: 14 Bolt Rear Axle

These pictures should help ya...

The first two photos are of a 14 bolt full-floater.

The third photo of the axle sitting on the floor getting ready to be carted to the junk yard is a 14 bolt semi floater. It too had 4:10 gears. They are not popular among the off-road crowd. I ditched a semi-floater for a full-floater in this 1988 Suburban.

Re: 14 Bolt Rear Axle

i stole the axels off a 85 burb, they are allright for offroading, im running 3's which was too much for the front axel, but the bigger brakes that come from the surburbans really increased my stopping power.
im happy with how they handle and everything...
i shattered th eu jint on the right front the other day being stupid, but that's my own fault..
