pictures of my new cowl lift off hood

Had hood painted and brackets fabed up by eric french in glencoe, ok. His shop is Wicked Racing and customs inc. He has done some of the best work that i have seen. He made up a fin for my buddy's mustang that is perfect. He drilled and tapped and put allen head bolts and nylon lock nuts on everything, no rivits. I can't say enough about the quality of craftsmanship from this guy. Just wish i knew him sooner when i had my truck painted. He also does cages, fuel cells etc.etc. He's going to do my moly cage when i round up enough funds. Anyway, here's a few pictures.

Re: pictures of my new cowl lift off hood

When i was in high school i let my brother borrow my truck and he went to back out of a driveway and my front bumper hooked on to the rear fender of a geo storm and ripped off the whole rear fender on the geo. I tried to straighten my bumper, just really never realized how bad it looked until i took these pictures.

I can put it on and off myself, but i have my wife help me just so i can be a little more careful with the paint. But hood weighs around 25 to 30lbs.

Re: pictures of my new cowl lift off hood

Looks good but I think it needs more fasteners across the front. I'd hate to see you lose it.

Re: pictures of my new cowl lift off hood

It has 8 fasteners, and the hood seams very sturdy, its by usbodysource, it's a little thicker material than my budy's lift off hood that's on his nova. The guy that put them on for me does alot of promod work and he said the way the design of the hood and everything 8 fasteners will be fine. He said that if it was weaker material which would have more flex, then he would put 2 more in the front and 2 more in the back next to the cowl. Anyway, just have to tripple check to make sure that they are all fastened.
