Is this a fuel vent??

I removed my bed yesterday to do my cnotch and i got to see the gas tank the PO had installed. This is what i found....

THat tube just had some tape over the end.... What goes here? Im assuming its some sort of vent but i dont really know if i should leave it uncovered or close it off completely???

Also, i noticed something that looked like JB weld on the line that goes to the fuel line... Here in the pic.

Its dry and i dont think its a problem, but it kinda concerned me.... Any thoughts?

Re: Is this a fuel vent??

looks like a filler neck vent. The tank i pulled from a 85ish burb had the same thing. It's more like a pressure release for when your filling the tank then anything. It should have a hose that runs right up to where the filler tube meets the fill door.

As far as the JB weld. I'd just get a new sending unit. The sending unit on my tank has 4 tubes on it. I just capped them off for now untill i can get another sending unit.

or at least thats what i think. LOL.

x2 - vent hose connection for over flow. up to you if you want to reconnect

i would'nt touch the jb weld unless theres a problem!

Re: Is this a fuel vent??

Breather hose so when your filling up the tank it can release the pressure without cutting off the gas nozzel at the store. I hate that when it happens. My old tank I didn't put one in and gas would spray all over you if it filled to quickly.
J/B Weld...well you know the saying, if it ant broke don't fix it!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
